Description:
This miniature trinket / pill / powder box features cloisonne enameling of flowers (probably lotus) on the top and bottom. It's a wonderful burgundy color and the flower enameling is in areas, multi-colored within same cloisonne pockets (see photos). The sides feature circles on the top and bottom. There is an ormulu hook where one might place a chain through on one end. Being that the box is enameled on all sides, this piece is meant to be hung. The box is hinged. Appears to be copper covered with gold filigree and brass. Hinged lid closes evenly but not tight. The interior is an indigo blue enamel and it looks as if powder or potpourri may have been stored in this piece based on residue visible on the interior. I believe this is an older piece.
Condition: Enamel condition overall good with a few minor small scratches on one side (probably the side it's been sitting on). The enamel still has plenty of shine.
