Description:
This elaborate oak frame has an older finish on it in good condition. The oak carvings applied and mounted to the frame depict the American eagle surrounded by the oak leaf wreath resting on a ribbon base. Below the Eagle is a basket that flows across each side with carved flowers in great relief. The bottom central motif are musical instruments flanked on the left with a laurel garland and on the right with oak leaves. The beveled oval mirror may be a recent addition or the original mirror with excellent silver. The molded rim of the mirror is accented by gilt beading. While the frame is strong, the corners show evidence of some shrinkage, appropriate with age. The carvings are all in excellent condition.
