Beautifully engraved SPECIMEN certificate from the Noblitt-Sparks Industries, Incorporated. This historic document was printed by the Western Banknote Company in the 1930's and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an allegorical woman. Certificate Vignette In 1919 Q.G. Noblitt started the Indianapolis Air Pump Company. In 1929, the Indianapolis Air Pump Company, operating under the new name of Noblitt-Sparks, began producing mufflers. In 1950, Noblitt-Sparks changed its name to Arvin Industries, Inc. In 2000, ArvinMeritor, Inc., a leading global automotive supplier, is created by the merger of Meritor Automotive Inc., and Arvin Industries Inc. The Arvin Radio ( Now Arvin Industries ) was produced by Noblitt-Sparks Industries which was founded in 1927 for the manufacture of automobile parts. The company began making automobile radios in 1933 and by 1934 was producing radios for the home. They also made radios for Sears which were sold under the Silvertone brand name. Arvin Industries, Inc. manufactures and supplies automotive parts, products and services. The Company's primary manufacturing locations are in the South Africa, United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Brazil. The company's products are marketed in North America, Europe and other parts of the world. The company's two major customers are Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation. The Company acquired Camloc Gas Springs, Purolator Products and Worldsource Coil Coating, inc., in 1999. The Company's International sales accounted for 39% of 1999 revenues. Automotive original equipment accounted for 64% of 1999 revenues; automotive replacement, 30% and coil coating, 6%.
