Description:
Stunning Nippon matching vases handpainted with a serene scene of a cottage on a lake, framed above and below with blue roses and leaves on a lilac background. The "pinches" are outlined with deep brown moriage beading; more beading separates the scene from the floral section and there is a thin moriage rim near the lip. Thick moriage in red and white (Jewels?) decorates the knobby rim of each. The stamp on the bottom is the green M (see photo). Both vases are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, although there are tiny areas where the brown beads have come off. On one of the vases, there is a miniscule "dimple" in the porcelain on the back. These are being sold as a pair; price is for the set.
