Description: An interesting nautical cane with a two-piece whale ivory handle comprised of a straight up extension of the shaft meeting a flat disk which is a slice through a whale's tooth. A treatment rarely used or seen, even though the graining made visible by this angled cut is fascinating to see. On the top of this handle are three small etched stars. An integrated whalebone collar and whalebone eyelets, below which a white metal collar with exaggerated rivets on a shaft of what appears to be a dark cherry wood with twig spurs, old ivory ferrule. Handle: 1 3/4" x 1 3/4". Overall length: 34".
