Description:
Item/Description: Vintage Japan Native American Indians Chief & Brave Figural Salt & Pepper Shakers Set
***Exquisitely realistic and meticulous detailing includes full war paint and feathered headdress regalia
***What a marvelous Thanksgiving holidays table setting enhancement this delightful highly and richly-glazed pair would make!
Age/Period: Vintage - ca 1940s-1970s
Manufacturer/Identification/Markings: At the time of their initial purchase they still had their original "Japan" paper label. Unfortunately, subsequent to getting these wonderful treasures home, we discovered that the original paper label was no longer attached to them. They are with absolute certainty, however, vintage "JAPAN" items!
Material(s)/Format: Ceramic Bisque
Size/Measurements: approximately 3"H
Quantity: Two (2)
Condition: Excellent, evincing no noted nicks, chips, cracks, or breaks, and with what may or may not be a from-the-factory “bump” or hidden repair that is ever-so-tiny on the back side of the ceramic arrow situated on the side back of the Brave’s Head, with only a couple of pin-prick sized nicks to their overall paint. The condition of the feathers on the Indian Brave remains excellent, with the condition of the Chief's feathers remaining fair due to part of the feathered portion of his headdress having rubbed off over the years (an easily replaceable and remediable fix). One of the Shakers still even retains what appears to be an original fitted cork stopper
