Description: Unbelievable display of Japanese Meiji craftsmanship at its zenith. Unreal profusion of materials on this split manju. Ivory, jade, gold, silver, mother of pearl, malachite, coral, gold wire, tigers eye, agate and more. A piece of shibayama you may never see the like of. A small boy chases butterflies with his gold pants, bracelets, necklace and stalks of grass, silver shirt, hands and face inlaid with gold. Amazing detail on this miniature work of art. Condition is amazing and no missing inlay. Circa 1880 and unlike anything you will have in your collection. Sized at an amazing 1.75" square its art in a small package.
