Description: A fabulous gift for that Special Woman

Beautiful slices of tagua nuts, ivory-like but renewable.

Tagua Nuts are harvested in the rainforests of Columbia and Ecuador. After harvesting, the nuts are dried in the sun for 4 to 6 months. Some of the dried nuts are then sliced, drilled and polished by tumbling in water and then in their own media (grinding dust). Some of the slices are left their natural ivory color and others are permanently dyed. The Tagua Nut is also sometimes referred to as "Vegetable Ivory" due to the fact that it is almost indistinguishable from real ivory. In fact, one Tagua palm tree's harvest is EQUAL to ivory from one female elephant. These nuts have been used as an ivory substitute for over 140 years (and appeared as buttons on military uniforms during WWI!) An "Eco-Friendly" product, the Tagua Nut is a renewable and sustainable product, and helps support the employment of nearly 35,000 people in the rainforests. Long ago, the indigenous people of the rainforest used to give each member of their clan a Tagua Nut to carry around their necks, believing that the person who wore it would be protected by the love of both family and friends.

This stunning necklace can be worn as a collor type or adjustable to 18 inches. Stunning neckware in earthy blues, taupe, mystic violet, Limey and black Rose.

Rubber tubing over Beading wire, sterling rounds. Black tourmaline at the ends, then loops for a comfortable fit. Lobster claw clasp and 3 inches of sterling silver chain for whatever length you desire, 15 to 18 inches of WoW

Matching earrings are Bluebell tagua nut, black tourmaline and sterling french hook earwires with a filigree heart loop.

I put this necklace on, at 15 inches, and it was a perfect 'collar' lay. How fun and 'Jazzy'. But I have a small neck so if I were to wear this at 15 inches I would remove the 2 end slices, which can easily be done by just opening the jumprings and taking them off.
