Description: This is a small mug made to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII of England on May 12, 1937. The coronation never happened because Edward abdicated the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. The mug measures 2.75 inches high by 3 in diameter and has a superb condition portrait of the king who was never crowned. The portrait is surrounded by color decorations, flags, the Tudor rose and the king's cipher on the back and gold trim. The porcelain mug is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and only minor age crazing. A beautiful and historic piece. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
