Description:
Movado is a legendary Swiss company whose watches are well
known the world round. The reason that their reputation is so
widely known is due entirely to their quality, engineering, and
great design. This particular Movado is a testament to their
accomplishments. The movement in this very elegant watch is
fantastic and our master watchmakers have it running like new.
Made circa 1940 and executed in 14K solid rose gold the case
measures 37mm, lug to lug, by 26mm in width. The case is fully
signed and hallmarked in two places, one near the crown and
one on the case interior. The rose gold case is accented by a
rose gold colored dial that has Roman numerals at the 12 the 3
and the 9. At the other chapters it exhibits elongated baton
markers that give the watch a distinctly Art Deco look. The case
itself has angled corners and entended lugs which just add to
the overall Deco appearance. This watch was well-cared for and
it has seen very little use. It is a marvelous example of the
1940's. The case profile is slender for it's day and must have
been the pride of it's original owner since, it appears, it was only
worn on special occassions. Solid rose gold Movados are hard to
