Description:
This breathtaking sculpture is a stunning and substantial work of art. It stands 64.5 inches tall including the base and weighs about 100 lbs. It is a depiction of a nude mother and child. The mother is holding the child above her head by the ankles so that their faces meet in a kiss. It is made of plaster over a steel skeleton and done in a silver/gray with black in the relief. It is unsigned and as of yet unattributed, but fabulous nonetheless.
It is held firmly onto the base by a single bolt (invisible) from the bottom of one foot. The base is made of black acrylic over board.
Not included but visible in the background is a very chic Milo Baughman Chrome and Black Folding Screen. Look for it to be added for sale soon, too. They go very nicely together, as do the Mies Van Der Rohe Knoll Chrome and Black Brno Chairs that will also be added soon.
