Description:
Graceful Victorian Rosewood Ladies Writing Stand with very
dynamic rosewood grain. This is a very unusual form, which looks like a sewing
stand, but when you lift the lovely beveled edge lid, there is a mirror and a pull
out writing surface. The top section that looks like a drawer, actually has buttons to
push that makes it part of the writing surface! There is a small glass
inkwell and an area indented to hold writing implements. At the top there is a
small tab that reveals a hidden compartment (see photos). Underneath there is a small
fitted drawer, supported by four beautifully carved cabriole legs with
flowers, nut clusters and finished all around (on its original brass casters.)
What a rare, beautiful and very useful Victorian stand!
