(c. 1840).The mantel clock is made of the finest rosewood and decorated with beautiful bronze gilt ornaments.The inlaids of lemon wood are magnificent and highly detailed with mythologicals figures like two armours and many other inlaids !!The silvered dial has black Roman numerals and the steel hands are fantastic and handmade! The 8 days going French movement is with spring suspension and in fine working condition striking on the bell the half and full hours. The bronze movement is signed on the back with: "Ch. Duillet". Christophe Duillet was one of the famoust clockmakers in that time.This clock is everywhere, and on every chimney an absolutely eye catcher, and a real collector piece that you will never get again. Wherever you put this clock you can bet it will be the topic of conversation among your friends and family!
