Description:
This exceptional pastel chalk drawing of a lake at dusk by Rose Brown displays a most serene and bucolic scene of a sunset over a lake surrounded by forestry. Sparse clouds float through the artist’s beautifully drawn skyline and above the brightly setting sun on the horizon line. The artist completed this work in oil pastels and chalk, which allows for a more blended and peaceful account of the day’s daily closing. The artist’s command of her medium is best represented in this piece by the almost photographic representation of the lake’s blue and orange ripples. The overall effect of the oil pastels is realistic and stunningly gorgeous.
Measuring at 28.5” x 22.5”, this work is double matted with chamois gold on the bottom and a brown spice on top. In addition, the wonderful choice in frame is a medium oak wood with an antique gold in the center. The unique matting and framing presentation of this piece was individually selected and created by Le Chateau’s renowned master framer, Jeanette Shoenrock, and bears her signature on the back.
