Description:
countless masterpieces in his unique style.
“Abstract V” may seem like a departure from Cornwell’s well-known maritime work, but it proves to be a testament to his versatility as an artist to shift so drastically with such ease. In this particular painting Cornwell created an absolutely intriguing composition with limitless interpretations. A mysterious storm of blackness gives way to bold strokes of blue and white swirling into each other before receding back into darkness. The piece is mounted in a bright white wood frame with a unique texture that echoes the textures created within the composition, provides contrast to the dark composition, and brings the total measurements to 21 ¼ ” x 25 ¼ .” The unique framing presentation of this piece was individually selected and created by Le Chateau’s renowned master framer, Jeanette Shoenrock, and bears her signature on the back. The painting is signed by Cornwell in the lower right corner reading, “Ray,” a signature characteristic of his modern work. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a striking original painting by a well-known artist and a bargain price. Do not let the opportunity to add this piece to your collection of contemporary art pass you by.
Renowned maritime artist Richard R. Cornwell was born on May 4, 1938 in Port Huron, Michigan. His interest in art began at a very early age, drawing inspiration from his upbringing near the water. His professional career in art began with a four-year apprenticeship in advertising design and private study in fine arts. He takes great joy in receiving feedback on his work because he strives to incite the viewers to feel the same reverence for his subject matter as he does.
