Description: Exquisite ivory micro-carving by Son Zan master carver. The carving is in shape of a micro-container as a snuff bottle with an ivory spoon featuring a frog handle. An alga branch with a curving leaf, forms the main stem of the carving that has lotus extensions. 2 frogs climb on this seaweed branch. The carving is signed on a lotus bud. This micro-carving is not only a miniature in its proportions, but the open work in ivory is spectacular and un-surpassed by any other master carvers. The miniature carvings of Son Zan are featured in the reference book: "Netsuke" written by Mircea Veleanu and available for purchase in our store. Size: 2" X 1.5' (5 X 4 cm.).
