Description:
Offering this nice clean vintage inside micrometer set (2-12.5" capacity). It is marked "MILLERS FALLS CO. GREENFIELD MASS. MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 1218" on the micrometer head thimble. This is a good used set, I checked about 1/2 the rods at random, and they all check good with a outside micrometer. The micrometer head is clean and smooth operating, 99% like new, no owner's names. It appears this precision tool was very carefully used, comes with the 1/2" and 1" adapter sleeve (as the rods are 1" spacing, and the micrometer travel is .5" in .001" increments. The 1" sleeve is handy, as it can extent this micrometer to a better suited range for the work pieces at the time. It also extends the capacity in this case to 12.5, instead of 12.0 like most of the compeditor micrometer did at this time in the 1920's era. All the rods for the 2-12.5" capacity, a total of 7 rods, two sleeves, one thread handle that attaches to the head. A very nice, hard to find set in an good solid original Millers Falls wooden box, the box is clean, but has had some repairs on it over the years, some of the original matching label can be read. The box did it's useful purpose of protecting the micrometer and it's part over the years. The micrometer is in very good shape! It is also a rare tool by this well known maker!
