Description: This Mid 1800's Christmas ornament is hand blown . The base is solid glass. I tried to photo this, in picture 4. The ornament is a thin glass and hallow from the top down. It is wrapped with wire decoration And has glass beads woven into the wire. These glass beads are silver, gold, and green. The wire on the side is like a candy cane design. From that wire hangs a separate glass ball, which is about 1 inch in diameter. These small balls are also wrapped in wire and glass beads. I have tried to research this in some of the Christmas books that I have, the only name I could associate this with is Sebnitz, which is a early ornament maker. It has no marking from a maker. They came mostly from the Austrian or German regions. This will make a fabulous addition to any Christmas collection
