Description: Marvelous miniature art object hand carved in ivory with master skills. This carving is better than any Japanese miniature ivory carving of comparable size.It features 2 birds at the base of a large lotus leaf. 4 frogs are climbing on the edge of the lotus leaf. Bottle's spoon is in shape of a frog. The open work in ivory is superlative exceeding normal human skills ability. The open work features aquatic vegetation and lotus that is of fragile, minuscule proportion extremely difficult to carve in a relatively soft material as ivory. 2 characters signature of Song San is inscribed on the base. Size: 2.3" X 1.5" (6 cm. X 4 cm.).
