For sale, a vintage, Mexican hand tooled leather messenger bag or purse measuring 9 3/4 inches wide by about 7 3/4 inches high (not including the handle, which measures 3/4 inch wide and about 7 1/2 inches from the top of the center). The front side of the bag features whip stitching to the side seams and a flap over envelope closure with a tooled leather image of a farmer leading a burro, and leaf or floral designs at the sides and below. The bag has a slim envelope depth of 1 1/2 inches, but being semi-soft sided, there is some room for expansion. The area on the exterior underneath the flap and also the back is plain, with a hand tooled border design of cactuses and sunbursts. The seams of the back side are plain, heavy duty stitching. There is some crackly wear to the leather at the top, some interior wear and the leather strap is a lighter color than the body of the bag, but overall this is in good vintage condition and very sturdy with all stitching intact except for one stitch at the upper right where the leather separated. It's a classic piece of Mexican hand-tooled leather. Buy it now!
