This stein was made by Villeroy and Boch in Mettlach around 1970s. It is one of the first beer stein of the so-called "modern era" of Mettlach stein making. During the period of 1976 to 1990s Villeroy and Boch in Mettlach produced very limited number of beer steins in limited editions. This steins however different they are from the old Mettlach pieces are still the best in the world in the quality and beauty of design. The stein presented is made of porcelain and beautifully handpainted with the scenes of medieval knights and landsknechts. The stein is marked with incised Mettlach Tower marked, and signed by the artist. Excellent flawless condition, 9" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity.
