Description: Here is a fantastic hand hammered copper bowl by Craftsmen Inc. My research leads me to believe this is Craftsmen Studios in Laguna Beach, California. They operated in the 20's and 30's judging by the examples of thier work. I was unable to find any published dates of operation. They came just after the true arts and craft period, but embraced the theology. The mark is thier shop mark, a hammer and an anvil. It has what I believe is a pattern number 885. It has a lovely curled over and pulled out places around the rim. There is also a tiny little design like an elongated, on it's side, figure "8"all around the outside lip. I rescued this lovely bowl from a lady that had a planter in it! It still has some "greenies" inside. There are some places that are a "maroon" color. I do not know what these are. I do not want to clean this much. I used a sunshine cloth on the outside and vinrgar and baking soda on the inside to clean some of the gunk out. It masures approx. 8 1/2" across and 2 1/4" deep.
