Description: This wonderful tin Campbell Soup tray features the Campbell Kids and a sled. The children are decked out in warm winter clothes. With soft snow falling the little boy is pulling the little girl on a red sled with a Campbell's soup box for a seat. She is holding a green Christmas tree. On one side the words say "Zooming down a bobsled run is always full of thrills, but the real treat's at the bottom where hot soup will chase our chills." On the back is the title Campbell Kids and Sled and this narrative. The Campbell Kids were first used in 1904 as streetcar advertising. Immortalizing childhood memories, the Campbell Kids were used as advertisements for Campbell's condensed soups in nearly 100% of the ads published through 1922. The kids continued to be used, but to a lesser degree, until the late 1940's. Since 1948, Campbell Soup Company holiday cards have featured the Campbell Kids every year except 2. The condition is good with some light scratches on the surface. I have pictured the most pronounced. As you can tell from the picture the tray presents very well and would be a nice addition to any Campbell collection. I am adding other Campbell items so check my inventory.
