Description: A fine rectangular cherry late Victorian center table signed "From Prov. Furniture Co, The New England......" We believe that this table was made by Merklen Co, NYC and was probably retailed by this other company. It has a quarter rope molding around each of the horizontal surfaces and fine rope turned legs. There is a brass head with a ring in the mouth in each corner. It has brass claw feet holding a wooden ball - a feature normally associated with Merklen Co.
