Description:
Meissen art pottery porcelain group figurine of a male celebrating with three admirers at his feet. With a chalice in one hand and a scepter in the other, the male figure is garbed in only a leopard skin loin cloth and a wreath of fruit around his head. From his face, you can tell the male is young, and there is finely detailed musculature on the body. The three admiring figures at the tall male's feet are as follows: [1]one winged putti with a chalice in hand, [2] a satyr (man with the legs of a goat) with a chalice in hand, and [3] a pretty young female servant (nude aside from the blue cloth draped over her right leg) with a pitcher in her left hand and her right hand on the male figure's uncovered leg. A beautifully hand painted and crafted scene, highly decorative, detailed, and richly colorful. The bottom of this porcelain figurine is marked with the authentic Meissen insignia of two underglazed blue crossed swords. Also, the bottom is impressed with what appears to be "C 35x" and the number "63", and stamped with the number "69." A highly desirable and rare addition to any collection of Meissen decorative arts.
