Description:
This is a lovely Meissen Boy with a basket of fruit in one hand and a jug in the other. The boy is elegantly clad in bright blue shirt, pink jacket, fancy striped breeches, stockings, and shoes with gold buckles. He stands next to a tree trunk. The base is a round shaped plinth with gilded scrolls. The underside bottom is glazed; marked with the blue crossed sword mark under the glaze, the royal Meissen factory mark, a dark red gilders mark of 73, two incised marks 28, and 47. The bottom has an unglazed rim foot, and a small air hole vent. Dimensions (in inches): 5.0 H X 2.0 D X 2.3 W. Weight: 6.1 Oz. The date is early 20th Century, circa 1930.
