Description:
This lovely brown drip patterned pitcher was made by the McCoy Pottery Company and is marked on the bottom: USA. McCoy pottery is one of the most recognized names in American pottery. J. W. McCoy Pottery was established by James W. McCoy in 1899. McCoy Pottery was owned and operated by four generations of McCoys until 1967 when it was sold to the Mount Clemens Pottery Company. It was sold again in 1974 to the Lancaster Colony Corporation and continued to produce pottery for another 16 years. The demand for less expensive products and the availability of foreign goods caused McCoy's profits to decline steadily until 1990 when they ceased operation. In very good condition it does have 1 spot on the rim where the over glaze didn't take, and another manufacturer flaw under the handle and it measures 4 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches spout to handle and 3 1/4 inches wide. A wonderful addition to any McCoy Pottery Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please contact me and thank you for looking.
