Description: This exceptional 9-piece dining room set consists of a dining table with 4 leaves, 6 chairs, a sideboard and a server. There is even a pair of matching corner cupboards that we are selling separately. The set was made by the Northern Furniture Company of Sheboygan Wis. The dining table measures 62" long, 42" wide and 30.5" tall. There are 2 skirted leaves and 2 flat leaves, each measuring 9" wide. When all the leaves are in, the table expands to 8' long and can easily accommodate at least 10 people. The table was cleverly designed to store all 4 boards under the top. The table has dramatic flame mahogany graining on the skirt. The Sheraton style legs have a twisted reeded design and slender turnings. The table and leaves are in excellent condition. The sideboard measures 68" long, 22" deep and 36" tall. All the door and drawer fronts have more dramatic flame mahogany graining. Notice how the top end drawers are slightly convexed. The right drawer is lined and has dividers for silverware. Behind each door is a single shelf. The sideboard retains its original solid brass pulls. The smaller server measures 36" long, 19" deep and 32" tall. This size server could be easily used in other parts of the house as a hall table or living room stand. Notice the serpentine shape of the lower shelf and convexed drawer front and the solid recessed panel below on the back. The finish is in excellent condition with some minor nicks on top. The set of chairs consists of 4 sides and 2 arms. The armchairs measure 41.5" tall, 24" wide and 22" deep. The side chairs measure 40.5" tall, 21" wide and 21" deep. The shield shaped backs have Prince of Wales feathers and drapery carvings in the pierced splat. The seats are elegantly shaped with brass tack strips following their contour. The burgundy fabric is a tone on tone floral pattern. The fabric is in excellent condition. The chairs have a substantial stretcher system between the tapered legs. The frames are all tight with no breaks or repairs. The finish is in excellent condition. The quality and condition of the set is exceptional.
