Description: This mahogany bookcase was made by the J. B. VanSciver Co., Camden NJ. These are called barrister bookcases and were originally designed to hold lawyers reference books. The bookcase is comprised of 9 separate pieces. When all the stacks are used, it measures 86" tall. You can choose to not use and store one of the stacks if it is too tall for your room. One stack will hold books measuring 9" tall, five stacks will hold books measuring 10" tall and one stack will hold books measuring up to 12" tall. The doors slide up and inside the case for easy access. All the doors glide smoothly. The finish is original and in excellent condition.
