THIS RARE ANTIQUE PORTICO CLOCK IS ONE OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE CLOCKS YOU WILL LAY EYES ON!We are offering for sale this wonderful antique Portico clock recently acquired from a France estate in the South of France near Marseille.The clock is made of the finest rosewood and has lovely lemonwood inlaids with grapes and leaves.The bronze gilt ornaments are in original and perfect condition.These antique portal clocks are getting so hard to come by these days- especially in such lovely condition! Early French clockwork with pendulum on spring suspension, 8 days going work, the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell,perfect condition and good running/striking. Wind-up key included.The bronze gilt pendulum is carved with beautiful flowers and two swans.The silvered dial with the steel hands are fantastic!The bronze movement is stamped on the back with "100-WF" and probably made by Will Fernando.Will Fernando was a very famous clockmaker in France at that time.The style of this gorgeous portal clock is Napoleon III and the age is about 1870.
