Description:
This 1920’s enchanting chandelier begins with a wide, bell-shaped canopy, which features a beaded and cut-out style border around the upper edge in the form of palmettes and shells. The extravagance of this piece is unyielding commencing with the center rod, which is crested with a loop finial and descends to meet a section comprised of two Bakelite sheaths flanking a large marble sphere between. The body of the chandelier is comprised of five bronze bands meeting at the top to encircle the loop finial within five trefoil tips. The bands continue, bending and curving and finishing with the disc below. It is the underside of this chandelier that truly shines. Polychrome in finish, the focal point is a center star of black, red, and yellow cast to display a faux- hammered texture and a leafy bottom ring, which circles a distinctive dangling finial. This chandelier is in excellent condition, it has been professionally rewired, and it comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This chandelier is 16 ½” at its widest; the length of the chandelier only is 19”; the total length is 36 ¾.”
