Lot: 3 Pairs Vintage Metal Indian Bear & Lion Bookends
Description: Lot: 3 Pairs of Vintage Bronze Finish Cast Metal Bookends, Early-Mid 20th C. Includes: 1 pair of Indian Chief form bookends (backs marked "JB 1996"), 1 pair of Polar Bear bookends (not marked) and 1 pair of Recumbent Lion form bookends (marked "ANTONIO CANOVA 1757-1822"). Price Comparison: $300-400 in Fine Art & Antiques Gallery. Dimensions: Indian (Each): 9-1/8" High (including spear), 4-3/8" Wide, 4-3/8" Deep. Bear (Each): 4-1/2" High, 4-5/8" Wide, 2-7/8" Deep. Lion (Each): 4" High, 7-3/4" Wide, 2-1/2" Deep. Total Weight: 15lbs. Condition: There is some light scratching/rubbing/wear and oxidation to the surface of each piece. The figures on each of the Indian Chief bookends are slightly loose. The spear and tips of the fingers on one Indian Chief bookend is broken-off (missing). The arm and spear on the other Indian Chief bookend is broken-off at the wrist (piece is included). There are some chipping/losses to the painted surfaces on each of the bear bookends. There is some dirt/dust to the surface and base of each piece. Otherwise, the pieces are in fair/good condition.
