Lot: 2 Chinese Glazed Pottery Jar Song/Yuan Dynasty
Description: Lot: 2 Chinese Glazed Pottery Jars, Song (960-1279)/Yuan(1279-1368) Dynasty. The first jar is covered from the rim to mid body in a brown glaze extending to an unglazed lower-half and base. The piece has a pair of attached loop handles either side of the shoulder. The second, a globular-shaped miniature storage vessel, is covered almost entirely in a dark brown crackle glaze with small applied loop handles. Both of the pieces are unmarked. This lot was recently purchased as part of a large private collection in Manhattan. Dimensions: First: 5in. Diameter, 4.25in. High. Second: 4in. Diameter, 4.5in. High. Weight: 2lbs. 4oz. Condition: There are a few minor chips along the inner lip-rim and the base-rim of the first jar. The second jar has a number of very minor flat chips/nicks throughout the glazed surface. Both of the pieces have minor glaze imperfections and light scratches throughout. Otherwise, the pieces are in good condition.
