Lot: 2 Antique German Porcelain Cherub Basket & Amphora
Description: Lot: 2 Antique German Flower Encrusted Porcelain Cherub Basket & Leaf Encrusted Amphora Bowl with two Figures, Early-Mid 20th C. Germany. Both pieces are marked on the base with underglaze blue maker's mark, as well as impressed numbers "312" on the amphora vase and "514" on the basket. Dimensions: Amphora: 5.25in. High, 4.875in. Wide (base). Basket: 7.5in. High, 9.5in. Wide. Total weight: 4lbs. 12oz. Condition: The right arm of one of the figures applied to the amphora has been broken off and is missing, while the thumb of the other figure has also broken and is missing. There is evidence of overpainting/repair to the backs of both cherub figures applied to the basket (it appears the original wings were broken off and a repair attempted). A few of the toes of one of the cherub figurines have minor chips. Both pieces have several minor chips/nicks throughout the applied floral decoration. There are minor glaze imperfections and light scratches throughout the surface of both pieces. A few areas of soiling/dust throughout. Otherwise, the pieces are in good condition.
