The case has been lovingly crafted out of solid 14k gold and it's in near mint condition. The Roman Numeral twelve as well as the nine display an "X" that mimics the "Hourglass" case shape...just an element of clever design that is evident throughout this wonderful watch! Look at the case back, there are virtually no signs of wear! The lugs are still in excellent condition. When you examine a watch the case back reveals the real story - particularly on a solid gold piece! The abuse or excessive wear the watch has experienced over it's lifetime is immediately revealed! This great looking case has an "Hourglass" shape and it measures a mere 20mm at the narrowest part of the case and 27mm at the lugs. The overall length of the case is 40mm. Those are the specifics, but what it looks like on the wrist borders on the etherial. The 17 jewel movement is a symphony of engineering marvels that our master watchmakers have restored so that it sets, winds, and keeps time like the day it left Switzerland way back in 1959.
