Description: A long example of a cong tube. Most of the Neolithic and Shang period jade objects were found as burial gifts of the ruling class. A bit similar to a scepter, the cong symbolized the connection between the owner and the heaven. It is ornated with taotie faces like the later bronze vessels of the Shang and early Zhou period.
