Description:
This is a case where "less is more". The narrow 27" width is the really rare and desirable feature of this piece, but not all ... The subtle details in the trim and carvings on this piece and the unique side locking mechanism give this piece a reserved presence. The three full width drawers are graduated in depth to provide a choice in your storage options. The simple posts that hold up the arched beveled glass mirror are detailed with a little carving at the top and finished with the positive mirror bolts. The cast brass back plates are paired with cast iron bales for strength. We provide a key for the hatbox, but not the side lock though the lock is there and appears to be functioning. A label stamped on to the back notes the "Hahne & Co. Furniture Company in Newark, NJ" as the place where this piece sold originally.
