Description: Gorgeous Limoges 2-handled floral porcelain condensed milk/jam jar with Lid made by Elite Works in France in the late 1800's. These jars were specially made to place a can of condensed milk down inside to be used at the table. The hole in the bottom is so that you can put your finger through it to push the can back out of the jar. How clever! Beautiful rose/floral border on the top of the jar and around the lid. Decorated on the edges and handles with gold gilt. Has embossed dot border around the base, top edge, and edge of lid. Marked in red on the bottom Elite Works, Limoges France and in Green Elite L France. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. You need this for your collection of fabulous things!
