Description: Little home-made turned wood pot, decorated with penwork flowers and leaves - a vine, probably convolvulus. Underneath is written “ E. Muriel Heath, Mataura Island. Sept. 21st, 1927. M.H.”. (Mataura Island is in Southland, South Island of New Zealand). Age has darkened the finish of the pot to a deep reddish colour, and the matt varnish has stippled a little bit. There are areas of colour loss to the edge of the lid. Pot measures 7.8 cm high and 8.75 cm diameter (just over 3 inches by just under 3.1/2 inches). Pretty little pot.
