Description:
This is an old fashioned photographer poised to take a
picture with a view camera and flash powder holder. It
is in perfect condition with no flaws that I can find. The
bottom has a foil Letton sticker and the number 404.
The photographic details include a red and black dark
cloth over the camera and a box of plate holders at his
feet. The flash powder holder is in his left hand. A patch
on his knee and one on his dark cloth suggest he may
not be a highly successful businessman.
If you are a stickler for photographic accuracy you will
notice that the he holds a shutter release bulb in this
right hand but it is not connected to the camera. Guess
a tube between the bulb and the camera was too much
for the sculptor to attempt. This is not a flaw since all the
examples I have seen are the same.
This would be great item for a collector of
photographicia or a Lefton collector. My memory is that
I acquired this in the 1970s but it might have been in
the early 80s.
