Description: Leather Clad Basket. this is a very find, tightly woven sweet grass, very old basket. It is of unknown origin. It could be Native American or African. Maybe you can tell me. The leather appears to be dyed with a natural organic dye in a very pleasant berry red color. It has two loops of leather on the sides and one is broken. Thes is the only damage I can see and it does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece.
