Description: A beautiful example of a Qianjiang painted porcelain plaque of the goddess Magu and Shou Lao, the God of Longevity. Magu always very young and beautiful and was said to have lived tens of thousands of years. In this painting she is offering a peach, taken from her basket of life-granting peaches, to Shou Lao in celebration of life. This lovely plaque dates to the late Guangxu to very early Republic period. It is in excellent condition with enamels fully intact. A visual pleasure that one is sure to experience, the tile measures: sight size 9.5” x 7”, with frame 15” x 10.5”.
