Description: Late eighteenth to early nineteenth century cherry Massachusetts tallcase clock [longcase or grandfather clock] with mechanics attributed to Calvin or John Bailey, Hanover, Massachusetts. Eight day time and strike movement is completely skeletonized [see photo], internal countwheel striking, wooden winding drums, original wooden dial with rocking ship [original]. Dial is in its original state with no over paint. Weights are filled canisters, pendulum rod is wood and original. Feet, fret, and finials are original, as is all the glass. Clock is in fine running order. Measures approx. 92" in height, 18" in width at base, 9" depth at the base.
Status: For Sale Reference#: 3140
Condition: Case in pristine original condition including finish, frett, finials, and feet. Mechanics original and in working order. Year: Circa 1790-1815.
