Description: Late eighteenth to early nineteenth century English tallcase clock [longcase or grandfather clock] from the Devon-Cornwall area, signed T. Twigg, Hanley Green. This diminutive case is well-proportioned and is of mahogany and mahogany veneers with maple line inlay. Wonderful painted dial [all paint original] with moon faces in the lunette, striking the hours on a cast bell. The movement is of eight day duration and is in fine working order. Measures approx. 88" in height, 18.5" in width at waist, and 9.5" in depth at the feet.

Status: For Sale Reference#: 3138

Condition: Fine original condition, case French polished, all mechanics original, glass original. Year: Circa 1790-1820.
