Description: Late eighteenth century Berks County, Pennsylvania walnut tallcase clock signed Peter Gifft. Late Chippendale style case with distinctive split arch pediment by the same Berks County maker as in the Daniel Christ, Kutztown Clock featured in "Berks County Tall-Case Clocks" published by the Historical Society of Berks County, 1995. This clock is clock # 2, pg. 40 in this text. These are the only two cases known having this unique type feature. All mechanics original including weights and pendulum, feet original, all glass original. Dimensions: approximately 8'5" in height.
Status: For Sale Reference#: 3132
Condition: Fine original condition, case lightly polished, all mechanics original and in working order. Year: Circa 1790.
