Late 19th C. Old North Bridge Edinburgh Sepia Etching
Description: Sepia etching on laid paper. Signed in pencil lower right margin: "W.H. Urwick". Signature etched within plate lower left: "W H Urwick". In pencil along lower edge of paper: "Old North Bridge, Edinburgh". Dimensions: Platemarks: 7 x 10 3/4in. Paper: 11 1/2 x 16 1/2in. Weight: 2oz. (Box F) Condition: Darkening to paper throughout. Rather significant damage along margins, not affecting the central image. Visible water damage, foxing, mold, creasing and small tears to paper along lower edge, particularly in lower right corner. Significant creasing along all four edges. Soiling and staining throughout margins. One 3in. long crease extending into image from upper edge, 6in. from left side. Minor creasing and rippling throughout image. Otherwise, central image is in good condition overall, surrounding margins in poor condition. Artist's Biography:
