Description: English lobed square serving bowl, one of three pieces of this pattern available. English 19th century earthenware pottery sauceboat, Cauloon or Cauldon (both names will be found in use due to the difficulty of reading the mark). Marked with stamped brown ink, incised with 47, other illegible numbers, and Cauloon along the edge on the bottom; also marked with pale green script '3002', also marked England. Fair condition, lobed crack on interior of the bowl that shows in the pictures. Beautiful scene with Fables of Fontaine figures (grape vine, fox and stork). Dimensions: 25 cm x 24.5 cm x 10.5 cm high. There is one chip out of the interior rim with an old repair and slight yellowing of the glue from the old repair. Location: France
