Description: A beautiful and fine Large LangYao (ox blood) Vase, ca.19th c. Dimensions: 12" tall, 8" wide. The piece is weighty with good "balance". The glaze is a luscious glossy red which deepens toward the foot with overall 'horse hair" streaks. The rich red which was applied over a white glaze stops mid-neck exposing the white glaze. The glaze, as the body, is thick and rich. The glaze pooled heavily at the foot and after firing had to be cut loose.
