Description: This is one of the most exquisite semi glazed Terra Cotta plaques we had in a long time (including Goldscheiders)!!! The bust of Madonna holding a Child is sculptured in fired red Terra Cotta, the hair, cape and lips are decorated in cream, brick red, blue and yellow - combination of satin and high gloss glaze. The back is incise signed - Made in Czechoslovakia, and numbers 1058 - 7. Dimension : 16" H x 10" W x 5". Most likely made by Alois Klammerth in Znojmo (Znaim). The quality is comparable to the best Goldscheider terra cotta pieces. Don't miss out on this, rarely seen Art Deco c.1920-30's terra cotta treasure. Czechoslovakia circa 1920-30's.
