Description:
The Chelsea Clock Company has been in business in Massachusetts for over a century, and for most of that time has been recognized by yachtsmen, naval officers, and other nautically-oriented people to be the country’s (and probably the world’s) foremost maker of ship’s clocks. The larger models of their ship’s bell clocks are highly prized for their quality, longevity, impressive looks, and fine bell tone.
With a serial number indicating it was built in 1977, this clock measures 7.25 inches across the bezel, and is in outstanding condition. The lacquered brass case is bright, the face is unmarked, and the factory mahogany base shows only minor signs of wear.
The bezel is hinged, rather than screwed on. This feature makes it considerably easier when it is time to wind it every week. The clock has been keeping perfect time, and striking the proper ship’s bells.
The list price of this clock today, from the Chelsea people, brand new and shiny, is $2,177. The mahogany base alone is $190 . You may notice that our price is considerably less, and also carries a money-back guarantee of satisfaction.
If the smell of salt air makes you tingle, or the idea of a tall ship and a star to steer her by brings you visions of life on the bounding main, here is a top-quality clock that will give you the sound of the sea every half hour for years.
